Golden Port
The original game was a magnificent story, and this port only enhances what's already there which is more than enough. The rearranged soundtrack is amazingly done and it runs perfectly (on PS4 anyway)

No title
Ghost Trick is a spruced-up up version of the original 2010-11 Nintendo DS classic. This version has some added bells and whistles like an art gallery, remix music mode and some rudimentary sliding puzzles from the mobile port. While these are nice to have, besides the design sketches, they add little value to the package.

Remixed tracks did little for me either as they sound barely different from their original counterparts but the variety is appreciated. Special notice that two of the tracks are locked behind a ‘day-one dlc’ code for first print orders which is a scummy practice regardless. One of these tracks is from a prominent game’s locations so can’t unlock it otherwise. This commercial approach is very questionable.

Story explanation is not necessary as you can read it above. It really has that good ol’ Phoenix Wright vide to it which newcomers will surely enjoy and existing fans will appreciate even more. The actual narrative is very good from start to finish and it is presented in bite-sized chapters, never too long or short. Part mystery visual novel and part puzzle solving game both elements mix surprisingly well. There were only one or two out-of-place instances that reminded me that I was in fact still playing a game instead of experiencing the narrative.

The real star of the show is no doubt the HD graphics. They are fantastic to look at and are a huge leap from the handheld’s original. It is noticeable that this is a port as some animations looks less graceful than the others in higher resolution, but that is in no way a deal-breaker. Game’s presented in a letterbox which can be customized with unlockable backgrounds on both sides of the screen. You get a bunch extra with the music dlc code but sadly one among those outright spoils the game’s ending if you are not careful!

Closing thoughts is that this game is absolutely worth experiencing either for the first time or once more if you, like me, have not touched it for years. I fell once more in love with Sissel and his last night on earth to solve the many mysteries behind his death. I would have appreciated voiced narration but that's a tall order for this quirky little port.

A Nintendo DS cult classic back from the dead
This game is a masterpiece. It's quirky, fun, charming, captivating. It's made by the same author of the Ace Attorney serie but it has its own identity;it's really a unique experience.
The remaster is great. The music has been given a slight upgrade, with each track getting a new arranged version (you can switch between the old version and the new one). The original 256*192 resolution is now full HD. New control system keeps the same feel and intuitiveness of the original touchscreen controls.
Thanks to Capcom and passionate fans ,we can now play this little gem on modern hardware.

Awesome remake of the DS game
Played this quite a bit on the DS years ago. Glad I got a physical copy of this now. Got both Switch and PS4 copies. The PA copy supports English as well.
